On August 28, LDF will honor over 85 years of standing at the forefront of the civil rights movement by returning to the March on Washington to defend the right of every American to vote. We invite you to stand and march with us.
The Legal Defense Fund (LDF) is the country's first and foremost civil and human rights law firm. Founded in 1940 under the leadership of Thurgood Marshall, who subsequently became the first Black U.S. Supreme Court Justice, LDF was launched at a time when the nation's aspirations for equality and due process of law were stifled by widespread state-sponsored racial inequality. From that era to the present, LDF's mission has always been transformative: to achieve racial justice, equality, and an inclusive society.
LDF is ready to mobilize, organize, and energize Black voters, voters of color, and all of our allies in order to restore, expand, and protect voting rights in the United States. We were built for this. The March on Washington 2026 is our moment to come together as a civil rights community and ensure that our voices are heard. And we want to see you there marching with us.
